Making Soap Opera History with CBS’s Beyond the Gates: A Black History Month Experience at The Paley Museum – In the Wake Tv

New York, NY, January 30, 2025 – In the Wake TV is excited to share that The Paley Museum will host its first Paley Impact program of 2025: Making Soap Opera History with CBS’s Beyond the Gates. This special Black History Month event, presented by Citi®, will take place on Thursday, February 20 at 6:30 pm at The Paley Museum in Midtown Manhattan.

Event Highlights:

  • Premiere Screening: Attendees will get an exclusive first look at the premiere episode of Beyond the Gates, the groundbreaking one-hour Black daytime soap opera and the first new daytime drama in twenty-six years.
  • Panel Discussion: Following the screening, there will be a conversation with cast members Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) and Daphnee Duplaix (Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson), and executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, moderated by Vladmir Duthiers of CBS Mornings.

About Beyond the Gates: Set in a luxurious gated community in Maryland, Beyond the Gates explores the lives of the Duprees, a prestigious African American family with plenty of secrets and scandals. The series, developed by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture in partnership with P&G Studios, premieres on Monday, February 24 on CBS and Paramount+.

Celebrating Black Heroes of Football: In addition to this exciting event, The Paley Museum, in partnership with Citi, is hosting the Black History Month Exhibit Celebrating the Black Heroes of Football’s Biggest Game. This exhibit honors the Black athletes who have made significant contributions to the Super Bowl, showcasing memorabilia such as game-used footballs, jerseys, and player draft cards. The exhibit is open now through Sunday, March 30.
